The First Nations Writers Group began from a young writer wanting a place where First Nations kids passionate about storytelling could meet, share ideas, make things and explore stories together.

Led as a youth-created initiative through The Goodways Project, the group is a relaxed weekly space where stories can begin anywhere — with a picture, a game, a strange character, a handful of words, an idea, a drawing, or something completely unexpected.

Young people can play with characters and worlds, make up stories together, write fiction and poetry, create comics, draw, experiment with spoken storytelling, try storytelling games and prompts, or simply follow an idea wherever it leads.
